I am going to college now. As math has always been my weakness, I purchased the course material in advance. I am plan studying a couple of chapters before the classes start. Any kind of pointers would be highly appreciated that could help me to start studying examples of how to graph and solve parabolas- conics myself.

Don’t sound so dismayed. I know exactly what you are going through right now. When I was a student, we didn’t have much of a hope in such a situation , but these days thanks to Algebrator my son is doing wonderfully well in his math classes. He used to face problems in topics such as examples of how to graph and solve parabolas- conics and midpoint of a line but all his queries were answered by this one easy to use tool known as Algebrator. I remember I faced similar problems with trinomials, angle-angle similarity and binomial formula. This Algebrator is truly a great piece of math software program. This would simply give step by step solution to any math problem that I copied from homework copy on clicking on Solve. I have been able to use the program through several Algebra 2, Intermediate algebra and Algebra 1. I seriously recommend the program.
